Honey Caramel Apples – A Halloween Treat

Autumn is synonymous with the warm colors of falling leaves, cozy sweaters, and the delightful aroma of festive treats wafting through the kitchen. As Halloween approaches, what could be more enticing than the nostalgic treat of caramel apples? Let's give this classic a sweet twist by incorporating Appin Bees Honey, the golden nectar that offers a rich depth of flavor.

Ingredients:

  • 6 fresh apples (Granny Smith works great for a tart contrast!)

  • 1 cup of Appin Bees Honey

  • 1/2 cup of heavy cream

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • A pinch of salt

  • Chopped nuts or sprinkles (optional, for coating)

  • Wooden sticks or skewer

Instructions:

1. Prep Your Apples:

  • Wash your apples thoroughly, removing any wax. Dry them completely.

  • Insert wooden sticks or skewers into the top of each apple, ensuring they're secure.

2. Prepare the Appin Bees Honey Caramel:

  • In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine the Appin Bees Honey, heavy cream, butter, and salt.

  • Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring continuously. Use a candy thermometer to monitor the temperature. You're aiming for the mixture to reach 245°F (firm ball stage).

  • Once the desired temperature is achieved, remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.

3. Dip and Coat:

  • Allow the caramel to cool for about 2-3 minutes. Then, dip each apple into the caramel, ensuring it's generously coated all around. If you'd like, roll the apples in chopped nuts or sprinkles for an extra treat.

Place the coated apples on a parchment-lined tray and allow them to cool and set. Once done, they're ready to be devoured! This Halloween, delight your friends and family with this classic treat, elevated by the unmatched flavor of Appin Bees Honey.
